Mr. X Evicts Alone; Becomes 9th Highest Grosser Of 2015

While the early estimates of Mr. X‘s first week collections showed figures of 20 crores, the actuals are now in. The Emraan Hashmi starrer managed to collect 22.75 crores nett over its first week at the domestic box office.

The story of an invisible man who takes up law in his hand to draw vengeance on the people who have wronged him managed to find itself audiences in the urban circuits. The film has now surpassed the lifetime collections of Shamitabh which collected 22.45 crores at the domestic box office. Also, Mr. X has now evicted Alone from the Top 10 list of 2015’s Highest Grossing Films.

The film has been made on a budget of 40 crores (including marketing and distribution costs) and has already revived 27 crores (in satellite and music). Although looking at the way it is performing, it seems extremely difficult for the film to recover its costs.
