After bringing in 8.38 crores in its first weekend, Madgaon Express saw an expected drop in collections in the second weekend with close to 4 crores coming in. The film remained over the 1 crore mark from Friday to Sunday. And although the growth was limited, at least some sort of collections were there. The Kunal Kemmu directorial brought in 1.57 crore more on Sunday. And that’s an expected score considering the kind of three-way competition that has come from new, old, and parallel releases.
The overall total of this Divyenndu, Pratik Gandhi, and Avinash Tiwary comedy has now reached 17.73 crores. And on the weekdays to come, it should add around 2 crore more. There would be a drop in numbers today for sure and since Friday collections of 1.03 crore had come with a partial holiday factor boosting it to an extent as well. The best case scenario would be to get into that 50-75 lakhs range and then stay consistent around this right till Thursday.
The silver lining here is that there is no new release this Friday. This means Madgaon Express will get five more days before the Eid release strike. That would be enough to help it cross 20 crores milestone in its lifetime. And then add a bit more till it manages to hang in there for some more shows at least in weeks to come.
