The Diwali holiday will turn into one of the biggest release windows of Indian Cinema, witnessing a historic opening day collection as Ranbir Kapoor will arrive in the theaters as Lord Rama, along with Yash as Ravana, and Sai Pallavi as Devi Sita. For over a decade, Salman Khan has maintained a dominant presence on Diwali with huge opening day collections!

Currently, Salman Khan is the only superstar who rules the list of the biggest Diwali openers with two positions in the top 5. However, that historic streak is set to face its biggest challenge yet with Nitesh Tiwari’s mythological epic gearing up for a grand Diwali release!

Ranbir Kapoor To Challenge Salman Khan After 4013 Days!

Ramayana aims to enter the top 5 Diwali openers of Hindi Cinema! In doing so, it will push Salman Khan’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo out of the top 5, ending his rule in the top 5 with two spots after 4103 days!

Salman Khan has held two spots in the top 5 Diwali openers since the release of Sooraj Barjatya‘s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo on November 12, 2015. He solidified that dominance further when Tiger 3 opened to 44.5 crore on Diwali in 2023. Exactly 4013 days after Prem Ratan Dhan Payo established its spot, Ranbir Kapoor will arrive in the theatres with a clear target: surpass the 40.35 crore mark to knock Prem Ratan Dhan Payo out of the Top 5!

If Ramayana successfully enters the top 5 list, Salman Khan will be left with only one spot (Tiger 3) in the top 5 ranking. This will bring him on par with other megastars like Aamir Khan (Thugs Of Hindostan), Shah Rukh Khan (Happy New Year), Ajay Devgn (Singham Again), and Ranbir Kapoor (Ramayana).
