Join UsIt was an excellent second weekend for Good Newwz as collections continued to soar with every passing day. On Sunday, there were further enhanced footfalls as 14.40 crores more came in. The film has been exceeding expectations every day and the tenth day in the running was no different for it. Absence of any competition whatsoever has given further free run for the Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani starrer, which means coming five days to would be quite bountiful for Good Newwz.
The film has already collected 162.10 crores now and in the process it has already gone past the lifetime numbers of Akshay Kumar’s other biggie Kesari [153 crores]. Next in line is 2.0 [Hindi] and it has to be seen how quick is that number surpassed.
Good Newwz is also ‘good news’ for director Raj Mehta who is now set to join the league of very few filmmakers who have hit a double hundred with their very first Bollywood outing. Last year Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Aditya Dhar and Jagan Shakti did that with Kabir Singh, Uri – The Surgical Strike and Mission Mangal respectively. Also, Farhad Samji did that with his first solo outing (without brother Sajid Samji) Housefull 4. It is one unprecedented feat indeed and one wonders whether 2020 would manage to see a redux of that.
