Debutant director Sonam Nair and Dharma Productions’ venture Gippi, couldn’t collect much moolah at the Domestic Box Office in its opening weekend. Despite getting good response from both critics as well as the audiences, the film just made a business of about 3 Crores in 3 Days.

The movie showed a considerable growth from Friday to Saturday and even picked up on Sunday, however the numbers are still not enough to be called as decent. Gippi collected 75 lakhs on Friday (Day 1), 1 crore on Saturday (Day 2) and 1.25 crore on Sunday (Day 3).

All in all, the movie fared quite poorly over the weekend, and needs a good pick up in the weekdays to at least make a 1st week business of about 5 crores at the domestic box office. The film is already facing competition from a slew of biggies like Aashiqui 2, Shootout At Wadala and Go Goa Gone and will find tough to compete with the them.
