None of the four new releases have done well at the Box Office. Each of them depended on word of mouth to do the trick but then the opening was so low that a couple of films that did see some improvement also didn’t stand much of a chance and could barely complete a week at the Box Office.

The better of the lot was Ram Gopal Varma’s Veerappan that saw some start of sorts. However, it had to do consistently well right through the week to manage a decent entry into the second week. This didn’t quite happen and with the first week billing of around 9 crore*, it hasn’t done as per the merits. Really, the film had potential to see better footfalls in interiors but somehow the action thriller didn’t really catch on.

Box Office Updates – Verrappan, Phobia, Waiting, Sarbjit

Waiting saw a better push over the weekend but still a very low initial meant that the first week collections stand at just around 2.5 crore* mark. It may see some shows in the second week but with the big release Housefull 3 alongside it, the road ahead is tough. Ditto for Phobia which had similar collections and would meet with a similar feat. As for Fredrick, it didn’t even have shows going for it, leave aside footfalls.

Sarbjit hung to some extent and brought in 6.75 crore* in the second week. With this, the collections now stand around the 29 crore* mark. The film would have lifetime collections of 31-32 crore. Below average.

Note: All collections as per production and distributor sources
