Join UsIt is set to be a crowded weekend at the Box Office, what with three new Hindi releases – One Night Stand, 1920 London and Traffic.
This isn’t all as there is a big Hollywood release Captain America: Civil War and Punjabi film Zorawar (with Yo Yo Honey Singh). Moreover, Baaghi is holding on well too and so is The Jungle Book in select theaters. Also, down South, Tamil film 24 (with Suriya) is seeing a major arrival as well. All of this means that audience would be spoilt for choices when it comes to picking and choosing films.
Amongst the three new Hindi releases, 1920 London may find some traction in single screens due to the franchise factor. It is a delayed film but since it belongs to horror genre, there isn’t much of a difference.
One Night Stand has Sunny Leone as the main attraction, though reports suggest that it isn’t a quintessential sensual affair from her and has a sensitive treatment by director Jasmine D’Souza. If the film sticks with multiplex audience, there could be good jump over the weekend. As for Traffic, it has a good theme to it and the original Malayalam film was critical and commercial success. One hopes the same here too.
From the opening standpoint though, each of the Hindi releases would have to rely on word of mouth doing the talking. Any film that manages to get a head-start of over 20% occupancy would be ahead in the race.
