Box Office: Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw To See A Double Digit Score, Khandaani Shafakhaana Is A Word Of Mouth Film

Hollywood biggie Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw releases tomorrow and is expected to open quite well at the box office. The film is a spin-off to a major franchise and it would be interesting to see if this concept works in India. While the last couple of instalments of this franchise had done well across the country, it had the entire cast coming together on the frame. In this case, only a couple of major actors are around which means the overall film would need to be really entertaining to find a consistent set of footfalls.

That said, a double-digit score is pretty much expected for the film as it should open above the 10 crores mark. If that happens, it would be yet another Hollywood biggie after Avengers: Endgame (which broke all records), Spider-Man: Far From Home and The Lion King to do that in India.

Meanwhile, the Hindi release of the week is Khandaani Shafakhana. The film hasn’t really seen much of hype or buzz around it. The topic is taboo, which is fine as long as the promo works and the excitement is there at least amongst the target audience. Here, that is not really the case and hence one can’t really expect an opening of sorts.

Sonakshi Sinha does come with certain credibility and that means one can expect something special in the film. However, it would all be known once the film hits the screens and the actual content is out. As for the first day numbers, they are expected to be in 1-2 crores range and post that it would be the word of mouth that would take forward the weekend.
