Bhoothnath Returns did not record an overwhelming occupancy at the box office. The film recorded a below expected beginning at the box office with the early shows of the film indicating an occupancy of 20%. Bhoothnath Returns being a franchise film was expected to spark off a good opening, the early shows did not resonate the same quantitatively.

With such impressive trailer and premise, the film did not begin tremendously well. However, the word of the mouth is inclining on the positive side which might help in audiences growing over the noon and evening shows of the film.

The film released in over 1300 screens and so far only the multiplexes could put up promising occupancy numbers. In single screens the film went flat so far. Competing only with Main Tera Hero this week, the film has the benefit of a non-cricket week in its stride and can hence be expected be show more promise over the weekend.
