Bhoothnath Returns has turned out to be a safe affair for all involved. Though after a good growth over the weekend and sustained collections on Monday it had seemed that the Amitabh Bachchan starrer would see some very good moolah coming in, it was a free fall from Tuesday onwards. Yes, the collections were still not bad but there were hopes of sustained momentum, something that didn’t really turn out to be the case.
Hence, eventually Bhoothnath Returns ended its first week around the 28 crore mark. While these are fine collections indeed since the lifetime of ‘Bhoothnath’ (25 crore) have been crossed inside a week, the trending indicates that the film would have to stretch to go past the 35 crore mark. A lot of that is also due to huge release of 2 States which won’t just take up the screen space but also find good footfalls, courtesy its enhanced hype.
Still, all said and done, it is commendable for Amitabh Bachchan to have ensured a solo success for himself at this age when young entrants as well as major stars are struggling to bring in audience for themselves.
