Besharam Drops Further On Its 1st Friday At The Box Office

Ranbir Kapoor was soaring high on the success of YJHD this year but with Besharam, he might just hit a low with Besharam. In his first tryst with a commercial character, he plays the caricature role Babli well. But the hitches were so stark that there is hardly any saving for the film. Emerging as a dull affair at the box office too, the collections saw a further 10% drop at the box office. As per the accurate figures compiled from the scattered circuits, the film’s collections on Friday rested at  5.70 crores and with that the total income of now stands at 34.26 crores at the domestic box office, which is appalling low!

The film’s weekend collections are expected to drop as well given the negative word of the mouth. People are failing to accept the grotesquely tacky and loud character of Babli and Ranbir’s charm doesn’t work much this time! Abhinav Kashyap’s film that was expected to see an overwhelming swell for Ranbir’s star value will now see a deterring growth because the film is not being received well. The occupancy might improve over the weekend due to the lack of releases which might help the film perform better than it should but it will still be hard to save the film from doing badly at the box office!
