It was a good first week for Article 370 as 38.82 crores came in. The collections stayed over the 3 crores mark right through the weekdays as numbers hardly fell from 3.60 crores on Monday to 3.07 crores on Tuesday. This reflects quite good stability and also shows that the film has been well accepted by the target audiences.
In fact, what’s all the more notable is that the drop from Friday (6.12 crores) to Thursday (3.07 crores) is just around 50%, and that too when the opening day was helped by Cinema Lovers Day due to which the tickets were available for just Rs. 99. This in fact helped the word of mouth to grow fast and kept the footfalls coming in for Article 370. In fact, on Sunday, the film had peaked really well to ensure a double-digit score of 10.25 crores, and for a film of this kind of genre, subject and set-up, it really helped push the collections quite well.

This Friday, too, Article 370 will be the first choice of the audience, though, over the next couple of days, Laapata Ladies could surprise as the reports are really good for the Kiran Rao directorial. One waits to see the kind of jumps that it sees, though the Yami Gautam film is assured to keep good footfalls coming in all over again.
