PK has taken off quite decently on its first day. The film has collected 26.63 crores at the domestic box office. The first day was expected to be great and considering that it was a normal Friday, the collections are very good.
PK is now the Second Highest Non-Holiday Opening after Dhoom 3!

Since PK had shown good advance bookings in metros, the film will certainly show a good jump on the second day. The film performed its best in multiplexes and especially, Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore received huge footfalls.
It will be interesting to see if PK will surpass Happy New Year‘s big opening collection of 44 crores plus on its second day.
PK has set a historic record as the highest opening for an Indian Film with a GBO of AUD 161,857 (USD 132,108) across 34 screens!
