The sources from the production team of Yash Raj Films confirmed the news and said that the prime reason to scrap the Punjab schedule was to avoid the location clash with Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal‘ which is currently taking place in the rural areas of Ludhiana.

The source closed to the YRF said that the schedule is now shifted to Mumbai, Haryana and Delhi and Salman Khan will stay in the capital. The Punjab schedule is scrapped as location were more or less looking similar to Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal‘ and since both the films are related to wrestling, it would be inappropriate to use same kind of location.

Interestingly ‘Sultan‘ and ‘Dangal‘ are based on real life. Sultan is based on the life of Haryanvi wrestler Sultan Ali Khan while ‘Dangal‘ is based on the life of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat.
