Sujeeth’s directorial Saaho starring Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor in lead released today to mixed reactions across the country. While things were already dwindling post the massive pre-release buzz which led to high expectations, things have further fallen apart as the shows of the movie has been canceled in certain regions of Nothern India.
It all happened in theatres where the 2K format of the film was being showcased instead of the usual 4K format it was supposed to release in. The delivery of content got delayed due to which the shows had to be canceled. This even led to theatre owners refunding the ticket prices to the ones who have booked the show.
One of the distributors in a conversation with National Herald has revealed about the entire issue saying it has happened only with the Hindi content while delivery in terms of regional languages including Tamil & Telugu were just on time. The anonymous distributor said, “All deliveries of digital and physical prints of Saaho were done in Telugu and Tamil in time. The delivery of the Hindi version was delayed with disastrous results in several parts of North India. We had to refund ticket money to hundreds of angry disappointed patrons. Why treat Hindi audiences with so much contempt?”
Several shows in Jharkhand including the capital city Ranchi were being canceled on Friday morning. Cancellations from other parts of North India have been spreading too.
Saaho is helmed by Sujeeth and the film has released in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil in theatres across the country today. The action-thriller also features Shraddha Kapoor, Chunky Panday, Mandira Bedi and Neil Nitin Mukesh amongst others.
