It’s been 5 years since the first tweet was announced in cyberspace and we’ve come a long way since then. As Twitter.com takes us one step closer to our Bollywood stars, here’s a list of some of our favourites from the Bolly-Twitter world:
Shah Rukh Khan
He started off with a bang and has more than 8 lakh followers on the social networking site. What’s better is that Shah Rukh Khan keeps his fans updated about his personal and professional life with tweets and pictures from home or the sets of his movie. Though he had taken some time off Twitter because of some nasty comments, he returned today with a surprise in store: the teaser to the first look. And though he did not post it personally, he did give us a fair countdown. With Shah Rukh warming up to Ra.One, don’t be surprised if you see more of him on Twitter. In his own words (or tweets), “yes nice to be back…like bad habits even you all our difficult to quit…so here’s to a new round of bad habiting between u and me.”
Salman Khan
Grammar isn’t Salman Khan’s forte: you’ve been warned. But Salman is entertaining even as he tweets about random topics in a while and you’re at your wits end wondering what he’s talking about! He tweets in Hindi, he puts up pictures of his bloody eye and he promotes social causes: he’s our favourite bad boy on Twitter!
Sonakshi Sinha
Maybe she took lessons from mentor Salman, maybe its just being “Shotgun Junior!”, but Sonakshi Sinha is a lot of fun on Twitter. There’s quite some time for he movie to release and she’s still interacting with her fans and posting pictures from her sets, with her co-stars and the like. The girl’s got a pretty good sense of humour too.
Amitabh Bachchan
Poetry, pictures, refutations and replies to his fans: Amitabh Bachchan is probably knows best how to handle his fame. And with almost 7 lakh followers knowing what his next move will be – whether an ad or a film – it’s good to have his erudite and wise tweets regularly.
Gul Panag
Gul may not count among the bigwigs of Bollywood, but this gal knows her technology. And there isnt one thing she does not tweet about – cars, bikes, Chandigarh, films, current issues, politics, eve-teasing – she tweets all without mincing her words. Our favourite though is her first tweet post her wedding, “#inothernews got married yesterday. Super fun it was.”
People Who Should Tweet More
Aamir Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Karan Johar, Farah Khan and the likes. And no surprises when they tweet their hearts out when their movies are close to release!
People Who Should Join Twitter
Katrina Kaif, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Imran Khan: we’d love to hear what these stars have to say.
