Salman Khan films often do well on television, in-fact he is the only superstar whose films have managed to grab television impressions of over 1 crore for five times. Khan’s last five releases i.e. Tiger Zinda Hai, Tubelight, Sultan, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Bajrangi Bhaijaan garnered an impressive TVT of 1 crore plus upon their world television premiere, and all the films except Tubelight proved to be immensely successful on the small screen.
The reason for success of the above-mentioned films can be credit to Khan’s massive fan-following in the B and C centres. Back in 2012, Khan had inked a television deal with star-network wherein 8 films starring the superstar in lead were sold for a humongous chunk. And now, 6 years later the history has repeated itself. According to our sources, Zee Network has acquired the satellite rights of next four Salman Khan films for a humongous sum of Rs 400 crore, which mathematically falls at Rs 100 crore/film thereby being the biggest satellite deal signed till date in Bollywood.
The deal includes the sale of satellite rights of films like Race 3, Bharat, Kick 2 and another film, which Khan will eventually sign on for. While an absolute amount cannot be allotted to each film, as the deal also requires Khan to shoot for a few cross promotional shows just like he did for the Star-Network, however, considering all factors, it remains the biggest television deal of all time in Bollywood.
