Looking wonderful in a typical Kerala sari with a golden border, the actress visited the Mannarasala temple in Kerala’s Alappuzha district recently. And no, Mallika didn’t turn a devotee out of the blue. The temple honours and worships snakes and incidentally, the actress plays a snake (half-snake, half-woman or nagin) in her upcoming movie ‘Hisss’.
Mallika, who was busy shooting for Politics Of Love (aka Love, Barack) in the US and has recently flown down to commence shooting for Double Dhamaal with Sanjay Dutt, Kangna Ranaut, Riteish Deshmukh and Arshsad Warsi. She also began promoting ‘Hisss’ at the same time.
Mallika Sherawat with the priest of the temple and ‘Akka’, Her Royal Highness, Princess Lakshmi Bai of Travencore. Akka, as she is affectionately called by close friends and family, plays Divya Dutta’s mother (Irrfan’s mother-in-law) in the film.
Mallika tweeted her excitement, “Oh. My. Goddess!! I just had the most incredible experience at the ancient snake temple in Mannarasala. I feel so blessed! Prayed for everyone.”
A large part of the movie has been shot in Kerala and will also be dubbed in Malayalam, hence the love. Directed by Jennifer Lynch, ‘Hisss’ also stars Irrfan Khan and Divya Dutta.
