Kriti Sanon On Tough Times During Initial Days In Career: “People Thought I Was A B*tch”

Kriti Sanon started her career with Heropanti opposite Tiger Shroff, the film was a hit at the box office. Ever since then, there has been no turning back for Kriti. Every time she has come on the big screen, she has literally donned it like no one else in the industry. She was last seen in Ashutosh Gowariker’s Panipat opposite Arjun Kapoor and the film was a flop at the box office.

Although Panipat got good critic review but somehow it failed to impress the audiences and drive them to the movie theatres. Talking about Kriti’s struggle as an outsider with Pinkvilla, she revealed how star kids got her removed and how people would judge her without even knowing her.

“I’m very ambitious and I know that I have the potential to do a lot more. I want to work with certain A-list directors. So I have got great opportunities but if I compare, there are a few more which I really want and I’d love to have. The difference is still there. I don’t mind reaching out to directors. If I had been from a film family, I would not have to reach out. They would already know me, and I would have interacted with them somewhere. But after a while, only your work speaks. It probably takes way longer or more number of hit films and performances to sort of get there,” shared Kriti.

When asked if she has ever been replaced by a star kid, Kriti said, “I don’t know if they dialled the phone or not, but someone who was from a film family, or there was a little more buzz about that person, had replaced me. So yes, it’s happened but I don’t know the reason behind it. The director might have genuinely wanted that person. It has happened a few times.”

Kriti also revealed how in the initial stage of her career, people would judge her for being arrogant and shy because she was an introvert. “People who become like my best friends said, ‘You know initially I thought, you are a bitch.’ I thought you are very arrogant because you didn’t talk and all and I was like, ‘I didn’t talk because I’ve to open up. I have to know you a little bit to talk.’”
