An exhibitor of a ‘B’ class centre of U.P. telephoned his exhibitor-friend in Delhi and asked, “Is it not possible for me to get the Hindi version of Kites? I have a print of the English version, and the public is hooting in the cinema on hearing the English dialogues.”
Devesh Tyagi, who owns Nandan cinema of Meerut, made a pertinent point about the English dialogues of Kites. “When Hollywood studios have long since realised that their English films need to be dubbed in Hindi to cover a larger part of India, why can’t our Bollywood producers understand that Kites should also have been dubbed in Hindi, for India at least!” If Bollywood can emulate Hollywood in every little thing, why not in this?
