Join UsIt’s not just Russians who are crooning to Raj Kapoor and Mithunda, the Germans are the latest entrants into Bollywood’s fan club. Rani Mukherjee and Shahid Kapoor’s film Dil Bole Hadippa won the ‘Readers’ Choice Award for Best Film of 2009’ by ‘Ishq’ – Germany’s biggest Bollywood magazine.
Yash Raj Films’ ‘Dil Bole Hadippa’ released in 2009 with Rani Mukherjee as a fun-loving, cricket-crazy Punjabi who dresses up like a sardar (turban, beard et al) to qualify in Shahid Kapoor’s cricket team. The film was screened at the ‘Bollywood & Beyond’ Festival in Stuttgart and drew large crowds.
Other films selected in the ‘Readers’ Choice Award for Best Film of 2009 included Billu, Luck By Chance, Love Aaj Kal and Wake up Sid.
