Gandhi To Hitler director Rakesh Ranjan Kumar is back with another film, Marksheet. The makers are now finalizing on their cast and have already signed British Model Wardah Khan to play the second lead in the movie. Wardah makes her Bollywood debut with Marksheet. Previously she has been featured in FHM as a girl next door April 2012 and worked with Rahet Fateh Ali Khan in a Music Video. Koimoi caught up with this gorgeous diva to know her views on Bollywood, her debut and more.
Your first Bollywood film ‘Marksheet’ is up on the cards. How did you land up for this role?
They always say when you least expect it, that’s when unexpected things appear. This is exactly what happened to me. The world is definitely a small place where your name and face reaches to the correct people in right time and I have been blessed & been lucky from other competitors.
Previously we have seen many foreigners with the likes of Katrina Kaif, Jacqueline Fernandes, Amy Jackson and others do magic in Bollywood. What are your expectations from the film?
My expectation for this movie are on high stakes, as a newcomer I have to work really hard for my first debut getting in this Bollywood and first expression is everything where I should have my name remembered in every Filmmaker’s and Bollywood lovers heart.
From modelling to the silver screen, how has the metamorphosis been for you?
Modelling & silver screen are both complete different world, where modelling is all about beauty, stiffness of body with no story added whereas Bollywood industry where you can be yourself, with expression and emotions. It’s indeed a tough place but very pleasurable when you see yourself on the silver screen.
You have featured as the girl next door on the April edition of ‘FHM’ magazine and also in a Rahat Fateh Ali Khan music video. How has the experiences been?
These have been my golden luck; they appeared as a great luck. Both have been a fantastic experience so far appearing in magazine full of beautiful women and other side where the world admire Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Ji’s voice and I get to have the great opportunity.
With Bollywood still believing a myth that Models can’t act, do you think you would be able to break in the jinx?
Before anything I’m a human who understand emotion. Anyone can act in this industry or out, you just have be yourself and relate towards it if you really want it. People who say that should come up on stage and do acting themselves. Nothing is easy for anyone you just have to be truthful with yourself.
