Aamir Khan is paying it forward. The recent cloudburst in Leh had ravaged the school in which the climax of Aamir’s blockbuster movie 3 Idiots had been filmed. Aamir had voiced his concern about the disaster and expressed his wish to visit the site. He wrote on his blog, “…Very shocked and distressed to hear about the school we shot in Leh for ‘3 Idiots’…Just spoke to a journo friend who informed me that there were no casualties in the school in Leh, which is a big relief…Am trying to go there.”

On Tuesday, 17th August, Aamir hopped on a private aircraft from Delhi to Leh to meet the victims. However, the star was stuck in the aircraft for almost six hours because of a technical glitch. Aamir finally reached Leh where he met the students of Druk Padma School and the cloudburst victims.

“I am here to be with the students because I was told that they are in a state of shock. Nature can be real cruel sometimes but luckily, there were no casualties in the school but they are under emotional trauma. I will try my best to bring back their smiles,” Aamir told the media.

He added, “I am here to see what kind of assistance they need, so that we can help raise money. Apart from my personal contribution, we all have to contribute as a country because it is a huge tragedy. The country should reach out to the people of Leh in these testing times.”

Mud, stones and boulders have ravaged the school and the surroundings and more than 200 people have lost their lives. Aamir Khan took a break from the promotions of his latest production Peepli Live to reach out to Druk Padma School.
