TV actor and Comedy Nights With Kapil famed ‘Palak’ aka Kiku Sharda has been sent to a 14-day judicial custody for pulling off a comic act on Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. A complaint was filed against him for hurting religious sentiments with his act of mimicking the saint.
The actor has been booked under section 295 A of the Indian Penal Code (outraging religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious belief). A team of Haryana police arrived in Mumbai with the complaint. Sharda was shooting for his show in Aarey and was arrested after her wrapped up the shoot at 1.
Later, Kiku even apologized in front of the media, confirming that they had no intent of hurting the religious sentiments of anyone and that his character’s resemblance to Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was a co-incidence.
