Not many romantic films released in 2015, yet some managed to make their impact felt such as Bajirao Mastani and Tamasha. It is the sizzling chemistry of the on-screen couples that made us fall in love with them and enjoy the film as well. This year we also saw some new jodis on the block such as Sonam Kapoor and Salman Khan in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor in Shaandaar etc.

Let us have a look at the nominations for Best Jodis of 2015 :

Dum Laga Ke Haisha turned out to be a surprise hit. The film in spite of being hardly promoted, managed to woo the audiences with its simplicity and honest acting. Playing the unusual lead pair in the film were Ayushmann Khurrana and debutante Bhumi Pednekar. Their plus-size romance truly entertained us and found a great emotional connect. As the small town couple from Varanasi, the duo were a perfect match!

R.Madhavan & Kangana Ranaut – Tanu Weds Manu Returns

After Tanu Weds Manu, the duo R. Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut returned to the silver screen with a sequel. This time with a double role, Kangana managed to deliver a power-packed performance. With fiery dialogues, the spicy chemistry of Madhavan and Kangana certainly could not go unnoticed. Their contrasting characters and romance, made up for a great watch!

Varun Dhawana & Shraddha Kapoor – ABCD 2

Another new jodi this year was Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor in Remo D’Souza’s dance film, ABCD 2. Since the focus of the film was not romance, we couldn’t really see any sparks flying between Varun and Shraddha. The duo essayed a friendly vibe all through the film and managed to look like the cutesy young couple.

Shahid Kapoor & Alia Bhatt – Shaandaar

The ‘Shaandaar‘ couple Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor definitely made some heads turn with their crackling chemistry. Even though the film was a box office dud, the duo created a lot of buzz with their off-screen and on-screen chemistry. Not only did Shahid and Alia look gorgeous together, they even promoted the film with their new found name, ‘Shalia’.

Ranbir Kapoor & Deepika Padukone – Tamasha

Ex-flames Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone have been a favorite couple of Bollywood ever since Bachna Ae Haseeno. The duo share great comfort on-screen and compliment each other beautifully. This time with an intense romantic drama like Tamasha, Ranbir-Deepika shone even more. As always, their chemistry was bang on!

Ranveer Singh & Deepika Padukone – Bajirao Mastani

Their off-screen romance is always in the news but Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone this time made sure their on-screen presence too would be memorable with Bajirao Mastani. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali period drama managed to bring out the best of Ranveer and Deepika. The intense chemistry between the duo was unmissable. Post Ram Leela, once again Ranveer-Deepika proved they are one of the hottest on-screen couples today.

Ranveer Singh & Priyanka Chopra – Bajirao Mastani

Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra have played lovers, brother-sister and now husband-wife too on screen. They seem like best of friends off-screen and with Bajirao Mastani, they made us marvel them as husband-wife. Even though their love story was not the main focus of the story, the duo managed to create an impact with their brilliant performances. We could see the love, respect and honour that Kashibai and Bajirao must have had in real-life.

Salman Khan & Sonam Kapoor – Prem Ratan Dhan Payo

Salman Khan returned to the silver screen as ‘Prem’ – the ultimate romantic character of the Rajshri films and this time his leading lady was fashionista Sonam Kapoor. Unfortuantely, the duo did not sizzle much on-screen and we felt there was a little something missing.

Shah Rukh Khan & Kajol – Dilwale

Dilwale was not a romantic film but we have to agree that whenever Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol come on-screen there is a different magic altogether. This time, they were not seen in their usually mushy characters like the legendary Raj and Simran but the love-hate relationship they portrayed managed to woo the audiences.
