The day for which every MasterChef fans have been waiting for is finally here. Today, the grand finale of MasterChef Australia 2020 was held and the finalists were Emelia Jackson and Laura Sharrad. This season has been an interesting one because it featured selected contestants from the previous 11 seasons. Even the judges were new. The 12th season was judged by Andy Allen, Melissa Leong and Jock Zonfrillo.
It was a tough competition between Emelia and Laura. And in the end, it was Emelia Jackson who emerged out as the winner of MasterChef Australia 2020!
What’s interesting is both Emelia and Laura were a part of MasterChef season 6. At that time, Laura came second and Emelia came third. Even this time, Laura won the second spot in this cooking reality show. The winner of MasterChef Australia 2020 took to her Twitter page to express her happiness in a long post.
Emelia Jackson wrote, “Well well well, what do we have here? My name on the old MasterChef trophy.
Had you have told me that 6 years later I’d be standing here, having just done the entire crazy thing again, I would have laughed!
What an incredible time it has been, my MasterChef. A pivotal part of my growth in my 20s and now the perfect way to begin the next decade of my life.”
She further added, “How lucky am i to have had such an exciting, fun and nostalgic adventure during what has been no doubt the worst year of many peoples lives. I am eternally grateful for the experience and the opportunity. I am eternally grateful for the mentors – both in front of (here’s looking at you @fooderati @zonfrillo @andyallencooks )and behind the cameras (here’s looking at you incredible team of cameramen, story producers, EPs, APs, ADs, the list goes on and on and on). I am eternally grateful for the friendships and connections, and for you all encouraging me on every step of the way. I am eternally grateful for a second chance. I can’t forget my little lozzie @laurasharrad; fierce competitor, incredible, intelligent woman, successful business owner and loyal friend, I am eternally grateful to know you Loz.”

In the 12th season of MasterChef Australia, Emelia Jackson often won judges hearts with her desserts. She was known for making the best choux pastries. She even overcame her fear of cooking a perfect fish and had once presented a delicious dish to the judges.
