Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been a game-changer for all the actors associated with it. Be it Munmun Dutta, Disha Vakani or any other. As we all know, initially, in the entire cast only Dilip Joshi was a known face to the viewers. But it wasn’t a good phase for even him too before the sitcom happened.

Yes, it might sound strange, but Dilip Joshi too suffered a rough phase before signing Taarak Mehta. In fact, he was jobless before joining the show. It’s not us spreading any rumours but the actor himself once had admitted the same during a conversation.

Back in 2011, Dilip Joshi had a chat with Times Of India. He was asked about his experience in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and his struggle. Speaking about the struggle, he had said, “Actually my struggle would have started from the very time I would have started acting as a child. I was good in mimicry. My mom thought of putting me in the theatre. And these were the days when acting was a social taboo. So from starting to sustaining, it was a battle.”

“Acting is a risky business. No matter how big you are, you are never secure. You don’t know when you will be out of work. Would you believe if I say that I was almost jobless for an entire year just before I signed Taarak Mehta…!,” the Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor continued.
