Upcoming action film, Policegiri starring Sanjay Dutt and Prachi Desai launched its trailer today. Based on Tamil action flick Saamy, the film’s trailer could have done with a little more calamity. Though the trailer did grab eyeballs, the reason for it was not the trailer itself but the presence of Sanjay Dutt in it.

Dutt who has an endearing persona following from the Munnabhai aura, Policegiri’s trailer interest banks solely on its star value more that substance. Though we do give the film the benefit of doubt since it hasn’t released yet and the trailer might turn out to be deceptive, from the first impressions the film’s overall impact has been a little bland.

Going by the recent history of Bollywood, south films remade in Hindi have been raking up interest from all and sundry. To point out a few, Ajay Devgn’s Singham was on the same lines as Policegiri, as evident from the trailer.

However a poorer version with less dynamic action and mild dialogues, the film from its apparent view does lack a certain punch factor in it. Repetitive moves that seem sliced from any random South film, the story undoubtedly misses to leave a powerful impact.

Just another Cop and Goon politician story like Dabangg or Singham, the film’s only prevalent positive point is the presence of Sanjay Dutt. Currently serving an impending jail sentence in Pune’s Yerawada Jail, the only reason why Policegiri has a chance at working is because his fans miss him tremendously. Besides that Chulbul Pandey or Bajirao Singham can command greater charisma any day, in terms of roaring action and tough dialogues!
