Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt share a fantastic dynamic, and it all began with their film Jungle Cruise. The former WWE champion might reunite again with the Oppenheimer star for the upcoming mixed martial arts movie The Smashing Machine. Dwayne and Emily’s fun banter is often shown in their interviews. At one point, they went a little bit overboard and received a call from Disney asking them to dial it down a bit when their banter began to involve adult toys.
Their film Jungle Cruise came out in 2021, and besides Emily and Dwayne, it also featured Jack Whitehall, Jesse Plemons, and Paul Giamatti in significant roles. The movie was based on Disneyland’s theme park ride, in which a small riverboat takes a group of travelers through a jungle with several dangerous animals and reptiles, but with a supernatural twist.
As per Showbiz Cheatsheet, Dwayne Johnson was profiled in Vanity Fair, and Emily Blunt revealed that the action star had no boundaries. Blunt believed The Rock has a rebellious kid in him who pushes things to the extent that when he says things, it will make one’s head spin to make them laugh. The Oppenheimer star called him one of the most polite gentlemen in the world. This admiration was vice versa, and it led to some hilarious interviews.
In one of the interviews, while promoting Jungle Cruise, The Smashing Machine star joked that Emily should take a Vagisil to the jungle. They were asked the hypothetical question of what they would bring into the jungle with them. Blunt responded to Dwayne Johnson’s Vagisil comment by suggesting he bring an*al beads.
Dwayne recalled Disney reached out to him and Emily as well, asking them to tone down the profane banter. He said, “I can’t tell you how quick we got those calls: ‘We really love your chemistry and what you guys are doing—but can we dial it back a little bit on the an*l beads?’”
Is Jungle Cruise 2 happening?
As per reports, the makers of Jungle Cruise announced a sequel just weeks after the first film’s release. THR reported that Jungle Cruise 2 was in the works with Emily and Dwayne in the lead roles. Director Jaume Collet-Serra was also slated to return for the sequel, but nothing substantial was further reported on that front.
Now, as per Variety, Dwayne and Emily might reunite again for The Smashing Machine as she is being eyed for Mark Kerr’s wife’s part.
