The film is unbeatable in the domestic market comprising of the United States and Canada.
Domestically, Star Wars: The Force Awakens made $937 million in its theatrical run. This number is yet to be surpassed by anyone. Everyone hoped that Avengers: Endgame’s storm would shatter all pre-existing records but missed out on this one. Endgame is at the 2nd spot with a collection of $858 million. James Cameron’s Avatar is at 3rd with $760 million.

On the global front, Star Wars: The Force Awakens made $2.068 billion, while Avengers: Endgame raked $2.797 billion (as per Box Office Mojo).
Directed by J. J. Abrams, Star Wars: The Force Awakens features Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Max von Sydow, in key roles.
Upon its release, the film received mostly positive reviews from critics. In the opening weekend itself, the film had made around $248 million.
