Friday Rs. 142.5 million
Saturday Rs. 157.5 million
Sunday Rs. 170 million
This total was the highest ever, surpassing the total weekend collection of the previous record holder, 3 Idiots, which had netted Rs. 410 million. With a net collection of Rs. 470 million for the first three days, the distributors’ share of the weekend alone is Rs. 250 million!
The victory march of the Salman Khan starrer continued on Monday too with several multiplexes recording full houses in almost 60% of the shows. The net total on Monday was an impressive Rs. 100 million. 3 Idiots had collected a net of Rs. 110 million. At the rate at which Dabangg is going, a business (distributors’ share) of Rs. 700 to 750 million looks like a distinct possibility.
