In an industry where most films work on face value rather the script, and its execution, it hardly comes as a surprise that David could not do any great numbers at the domestic box office.  Though the movie got good reviews it failed to convert the same into numbers. The opening day collections for David were just 0.70 Crores.

Though the movie performed poorly on its 1st Friday at the box office, it will expect a turnaround on Saturday and Sunday.  One of the reasons for the poor performance can also be the competition it is facing from the other movies like Race 2 and Vishwaroop.
