Reception of Bastar
After delivering a blockbuster with The Kerala Story, director Sudipto Sen is back with another important and sensitive subject. Considering the success of the last film, expectations were high for this latest release, but the buzz was totally missing. Talking about critics’ reviews, they have been mixed. Even word-of-mouth among neutral audiences is mixed so far. So, a big turnaround won’t be seen.
Day 1 estimates of Bastar
During the pre-release phase, Bastar failed to create any sort of buzz around itself. As a result, it didn’t find any momentum on day 1. As per early trends flowing in, the film earned a disastrous collection of 0.60-1 crore on the opening day. It’s clearly a poor start, and if compared to Adah Sharma-Sudipto Sen’s last film, The Kerala Story’s day 1 of 8.03 crores, it stands nowhere.
