Badlapur is going steady over the week days with normal drops. The Varun Dhawan starrer collected approximately 3 crores on its sixth day. The noir drama now stands with a total collection of 35 crores at the domestic box office. It has held well in the week days compared to previous releases such as Shamitabh which experienced huge drops in the week.

Badlapur is riding high on the positive word of mouth. The film has been strong in urban centers and mass circuits too have held up well. Varun Dhawan has a decent fan following and since he is receiving rave reviews for his performance, the film is certainly benefiting from it. Looking at the film’s stride, it seems Badlapur may fetch a first week collection of approximately 38 crores at the domestic box office which is decent.

  1. Film budget is 25 cr, so 38 cr in the 1st week is more than decent ! In fact, if it helds well in the 2nd week-end, Badlapur has chances to become the first official hit of the year.

  2. Quite a cool run as compared to biggies released last week. Full marks should be given to S raghwan whohas contructed an amazing script laced with some poweful acts by the lead players. Slowing and steadily noir cinema is making inroads into the mindset og the indian cinegoer who usually lap up dance gana.
