Another Good Day In Theaters, Bajirao Mastani And Dilwale Do Well

It is ‘achche din’ indeed for audience as they continue to step in theaters for the latest releases. Both Bajirao Mastani and Dilwale have found audience which means there were good crowds seen in theaters in Wednesday as well. In a way, the biggest gainers in this clash have been exhibitors who have managed to gain footfalls in all their screens on the basis of whether audiences are stepping in for Sanjay Leela Bhansali drama or Rohit Shetty’s romantic flick.

Let’s begin with Bajirao Mastani. The film is enjoying a dream run and is ultra stable at the Box Office. If the numbers on the weekdays are about die hard movie buffs and fans thronging theaters, it is aam junta – which relies on word of mouth – that is now keeping the numbers coming in during weekdays. The acclaim is superb and people are fast waking up to the fact that Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra are featuring in a modern day classic by Eros here. No wonder, with 9.21 crore more coming in, the film has reached the superb total of 75.63 crore.

On the other hand Dilwale too has stabilized and is seeing good numbers coming. Contrary to what some out there may be reporting, by no means has the film gone down because if that was the case, signs would have been visible from Tuesday itself. The only thing restricting its numbers is the clash with Bajirao Mastani. Otherwise on a regular release with an expected trending, the numbers would have been better. All of that is expected to be compensated to a fair degree in the coming fortnight as so far, with 8.79 crore moolah on Wednesday, the film has reached the collection of 93.39 crore.
