Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar has become the biggest Indian blockbuster in China after Dangal. Even though Secret Superstar saw a mild response at India box office but when released in China earlier this year, the film has already made more than 400 crores.

Zaira, who hails from Kashmir, caught the attention of Bollywood buffs first with Dangal. With Secret Superstar, she upped the ante with her performance as a teenage girl Insiya, who chases her dream of becoming a singing superstar under the confinement of anonymity.

The second straight hit in China for Bollywood actor-producer Aamir Khan, Secret Superstar underscores how quickly the world’s second-biggest film market is evolving from franchise fare like Universal Pictures’ Fast & Furious installments to a taste for films from all around the world.

The movie has earned $ 72.52 million (461.91 crores) at the Chinese box office! The film stands with a global collection of 611.91 crores. While Aamir Khan is doing well in China, another Indian superstar, Salman Khan, is all set to explore the market in China. His debut in the country will be in Kabir Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan film.

Directed by Advait Chandan, Secret Superstar saw Aamir in a supporting role to its lead Insia, played by Zaira Wasim. Zaira had also played one of Aamir’s onscreen daughters in Dangal.

Before Secret Superstar, the massive collection of Aamir’s wrestling movie Dangal in China made it the highest grossing Indian film ever, even more than last year’s blockbuster Baahubali 2.
