Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor has been battling with cancer since September last year and has set base in New York for his treatment! However; the inherently jovial actor say’s that he considers his stay there as an extended holiday and is eagerly looking forward to return back to home to his country, family and work!
And now; in a recent interview with Mid-Day the actor has shared a rather hilarious incident that he encountered during his stay at NY. Recalling the same; Kapoor said,” Once I was at a restaurant, which had several Bangladeshi waiters. Each of them came and greeted me. One of the American staff members thought I was an ex waiter there, which is why the staff was talking to me. They were so embarrassed, but I laughed all the way back home.”
It is in the same interview that the Mulk actor has expressed his gratitude for wife and former actress Neetu Kapoor for standing rock solid by his side during such turbulent times! Rishi was quoted saying,” I have learnt to remain calm with my family and fans. I owe it to them; they have given me so much love and sent good wishes. Neetu has been my rock and has shouldered all the responsibilities. So, has been my family, who would drop in to give me the strength to battle my illness.”

The actor who is waiting to return home in time for Ganesh Chaturthi further said he will nose dive back to work. Rishi Kapoor concluded saying,” I have to complete The Body [with Emraan Hashmi]. They have been gracious enough to wait for me. There are two more films in the pipeline.”
