Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal, who is enjoying the success of his hit film Uri: The Surgical Strike, has signed yet another film with Meghna Gulzar. He has worked with Meghna in Raazi and now he is all set to do a film which is based on the life of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw.
Meghna confirmed the news to Mumbai Mirror and spoke about it at length. She said that she called up Vicky one day and invited him for coffee.
Both of them spoke about Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw and the actor without even reading the script, agreed to do the film. Meghna insisted Vicky read the script and he loved the script. He said that he personally couldn’t witness Manekshaw achievements but his parents would help him about how fearless patriot he was and an amazing leader.

I feel honoured, emotional and proud of getting a chance to unfold the journey of this fearless patriot, the swashbuckling general, the first Field Marshal of India- SAM MANEKSHAW. Remembering him on his death anniversary today and embracing the new beginnings with @meghnagulzar and #RonnieScrewvala. @rsvpmovies
Vicky will be meeting the people who have known Manekshaw to prepare for his role. The shoot of the film will start in 2021. He was recently asked how he chooses to be part of a film, Vicky said, “I haven’t planned it in a specific manner. When you read a story and if it appeals to you and if the director is good, then I try to be part of that film.
“I feel very lucky that I am getting opportunities to work with some of the best directors and it helps me to grow as an actor.”
On his keenness to work with brother Sunny Kaushal, who was also present at the event, Vicky said, “It is up to directors and producers to cast us in their film. If we will get the opportunity, we will be excited about it.”
