Veteran Hindi and Marathi actor Sadashiv Amrapurkar passed away Monday morning. The actor, who was suffering from Lung infection, was being treated at a suburban hospital. In a critical condition, the actor was hospitalized for two weeks in the ICU and breathed his last today morning.
Amrapurkar was famed for his villainous character and will be remembered for his stellar performances in films such as Sadak where he played the Maharani the ‘eunuch’ which even fetched him a Filmfare award. Also he played some well-known characters in Aankhen, Ishq, Coolie No 1 and Gupt: The Hidden Truth among others. His contribution in Marathi cinema too was valuable especially in films like Zilla Parishad which gained immense popularity.
The actor will be truly missed and will be remembered for his power-packed performances.
