Set in the heart of the jungles in northern India, Raavan primarily revolves around the following characters:
Beera (Abhishek Bachchan): The lord of the jungle, the common man’s hero, the voice of the people: Beera. He may be an anarchist and a pain for the authorities, but his people look up to him as their only hope. The sole protector of the people of Lal Maati gets his epithet after the demon king Raavan.
Dev Pratap Sharma (Vikram): Nothing and no one is above the law for him. He may have earned the tag of an encounter specialist but he lives by his ideals. Dev stands for the righteous and does not waver in his path, come what may. Behind this tough exterior lies a loving husband who will go to any lengths to save his wife.
Ragini Sharma (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan): Enthralling beauty and majestic pride…all come together in the spirited Ragini. Gifted in music, dance and the arts, she is the perfect match for Vikram. Don’t let her fragile looks fool you, beneath that delicate demeanor is a strong and stubborn woman.
Sanjeevani Kumar (Govinda): He may not fit the bill of a conventional forest guard with his alcoholism and unkempt looks, but he’s the only one who can help Vikram. With an in-depth knowledge of the jungle, Sanjeevani is also the only one who understands that Beera and Dev are on the same side of the battle, but are fighting against each other.
