Join UsAamir Khan has retained his numero uno position on the Filmfare Power List 2009 with Shah Rukh Khan, Rajkumar Hirani and A.R. Rahman following close behind. In spite of all the public name-calling between Aamir and Shah Rukh last year, Aamir trumped Shah Rukh with his box office mega hit 3 Idiots, which Shah Rukh had refused to do.
However, we are sure Shah Rukh has no reason to curse his stars as the actor has his home production Ra. One and Farhan Akhtar’s Don 2 to fall back on. All said and done, both these films will take at least a couple of years to hit the screens and that leaves Aamir with a lot of time to consolidate his position as the No. 1 Bollywood star.
Speaking of which, we are reminded of the actors (female). The only women to make it on the list are Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif on number 8 and 10 respectively. Hrithik Roshan has managed to retain his position on number 9 even after the bombing of his much-touted film, Kites.
Aamir emerges as the winner in a separate list of top actors too, while Kareena reins the female category. While Rani Mukherjee and Preity Zinta are missing, Vidya Balan, Sonam Kapoor and Genelia D’souza have gate-crashed the party, earning spots on the top 10.
The list also includes names the top producer (Dharma Productions), director (Rajkumar Hirani) and musician (A.R. Rahman).The criteria employed by the publication to come up with its annual list of powerful people in Bollywood is their work done, ability to raise capital, ability to greenlight a project, work done on their own terms and the stars’ box office draw.
