While Sidharth Malhotra is gearing up for his upcoming movie Aiyaary, The Hindi remake of the critically acclaimed Kannada blockbuster, Kirik Party, will reportedly feature Sidharth as a college fresher.

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, Sidharth is preparing for the role. The report also said that Sid has loved the script of the super-hit Kannada film.

A source of the actor told the daily, “Sidharth has had meetings with producer Ajay Kapoor, who holds the remake rights of Kirik Party and loved his part. He is yet to sign on the dotted line but is looking forward to starting work on this one.”

Directed by Rishab Shetty, the original film about a group of mischievous students at an engineering college who won plenty of accolades at IIFA Utsavam, Filmfare Awards South, South Indian International Movie Awards and Karnataka State Film Awards.

Kirik Party is a 2016 Indian Kannada campus romantic comedy film directed by Rishab Shetty and produced by G. S. Gupta and Rakshit Shetty. It stars Rakshit Shetty, Rashmika Mandanna, Samyuktha Hegde, Aravinnd Iyer, Dhananjay Ranjan and Pramod Shetty in prominent roles. Rakshit wrote the story of the film and also co-wrote the script along with a team “The Seven Odds” apart from playing a protagonist.

The film became one of the highest grossing Kannada films and celebrated 150-days, in over 15 theatres with being screened packed houses.

Coming back to Sidharth Malhotra, the will next be seen in Neeraj Pandey ‘s Aiyaary which is up for February 16, 2018, release. The film also stars Manoj Bajpayee, Rakul Preet Singh, Pooja Chopra, Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher in important roles.
