While the entire country is looking forward to normalcy, coronavirus pandemic isn’t ending. Kanika Kapoor was the first celeb from Bollywood to test positive. We heard the news of Wajid Khan of composer duo Sajid-Wajid passing away yesterday night – he was battling with COVID-19 too. Now, Reliance Entertainment CEO, Shibasish Sarkar, has been tested positive.
For the unversed, Shibasish Sarkar is the group chief executive officer- content, digital and gaming at Reliance Entertainment. He had a fever on Saturday, after which the head honcho was admitted to Kokilaben Ambani Hospital.
While it remains unknown to when the results came out, a source close to PTI revealed that he has tested positive. “He tested positive for COVID-19. He is recovering and his fever has gone down,” quotes their source.
Meanwhile, Shibasish Sarkar was recently spotted at a webinar. He was seen speaking about the upcoming releases – ’83 and Sooryavanshi. Both the films stand delayed indefinitely due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Sooryavanshi, directed by Rohit Shetty stars Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in lead. The film is an upcoming instalment in the director’s cop franchise. There has been Ajay Devgn’s Singham, Singham Returns and Ranveer Singh’s Simmba in the list previously.
The film was slated for a release in March but was postponed owing to the closing of theatres due to the Coronavirus outspread.
On the other hand, ’83 stars Ranveer Singh in lead. The film is based on India’s win in the 1983 Cricket World Cup against West Indies. Directed by Kabir Khan, Singh will be seen stepping into then-captain Kapil Dev’s role. Deepika Padukone will be seen as Romi Dev, Kapil Dev’s wife.
As for Coronavirus, there are currently 93,517 active cases in India. The total reported cases remain 1,90,731 so far.
