Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol starrer Dilwale was one of the most-anticipated films last year. Unfortunately, the film did not perform as expected at the box office.
Even though it remained strong in the overseas circuits, the film’s domestic collections were much lower than expected.

This Rohit Shetty directorial made a lifetime collection of 148 crores in India. With a star cast like that, we were expecting the film to make a collection of over 200 crores. Since distributors suffered losses due to the film’s performance, Shah Rukh has refunded them 50% of the losses to them.
It is a considerate move by the star and very few producers would actually do so.
