Main Tera Hero wasn’t a remarkable superhit but the film was received well by most, which did help Varun Dhawan get a strong footing as an actor with good comic sense and timing. Obviously with good support from Main Tera Hero‘s success and acclaim, one would expect Varun to be in a more confident and stabler space.
Ask Varun about it and he says, “I am very nervous. Every time, before my film releases, I get very nervous. Somehow people have a tendency to forget that this is just our second year in the industry. And this one is just my third film. But what’s good is that the feedback this time has been very upfront. The criticism has been much less. People are reacting very strongly to my chemistry with Alia.”
He adds further, “Everyone is impressed with my chemistry with Alia. Saturday-Saturday and Samjhavan is kinda doing the trick. It is important that me and Alia deliver on that chemistry. People must feel the love story when they watch the film.”
Elucidating further on the premise of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, the actor adds,”This film is an out and out proper love story. Me and Alia constantly fight in the film and quite a lot. How the fights turn into love is very interesting in this film. It is important that audiences feel Humpty and Kavya are in love before they actually profess their feelings. The job is done if the audience feel the vibe before the two say ‘I love You’ to each other. Audience has to feel that these two are meant to be with each other. The story should root for its characters.”
The film is all set to release on 11th July. Given that Ek Villain is still scoring at the box office, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania is expected to take the box office mantle from the former and keep audiences hooked till the release of Salman Khan starrer Kick on 25th July, 2014.
