Join UsSahara Motion Pictures, which has to its credit 30 odd Hindi film productions and came into being close to a decade ago, is re-entering the Bollywood arena with a bang.
First step in this direction is a major revamp exercise which is currently underway. This has been made possible by the roping in of Girish Johar, who was earlier heading the Distribution and Acquisition for Balaji Motion Pictures.
Across the industry, this is being seen as a major step in the right direction since Girish comes with an immense experience of being associated with 125 odd films, the latest being Lootera.
As a member of Sahara Pariwar, Girish would be required to overlook Sahara Motion Pictures’ distribution and acquisitions in the national and overseas markets.
Says a source close to Girish, “What drives him most is his passion for cinema, whether in Bollywood or Hollywood. He has been associated with diverse films over last couple of decades. Moreover, he comes with a good experience in the corporate world, courtesy his earlier productive stints with UTV (where he was the National Head for all Disney releases) as well as Sony Pictures and PVR.”
With Girish coming on board, it is expected that Sahara Motion Pictures would be picking on momentum from this point on and join other bigwigs in the industry who are currently ruling the roost as far as entertainment is concerned.
While one waits to see if there are more bigwigs joining in at the top of the corporate ladder, it can be said with utmost certainty that some film related announcements are on the way pretty soon.
