Never in the history of Bollywood have so many films been released in one week as will be hitting the screens this Friday. As many as 11 Hindi films, including three dubbed films, are slated for release on April 23. Of course, there may be a couple of last-minute cancellations or, maybe even additions. Not a single film out of this nearly dozen enterprises is a star cast fare. And just why are so many films crowding the cinemas this Friday? Probably because all the producers of small films want to steer clear of competition from the big ones. The big-budget and star-cast films will return to the cinemas from April 30 after a six-week absence due to IPL cricket matches. Thanks to the competition offered by cricket in India, producers and distributors of big films shifted their releases to April-end and May rather than getting them in the midst of the cricket fever.
