Is this just a publicity hounding stunt snowballing or something more sinister? What started with starlet Payal Rohatgi accusing director Diabakar Banerjee of asking for sexual favours, has led to including others like directors Anurag Kashyap and Sudhir Mishra in Payal finger pointing.

Filmmaker Sudhir Mishra, who made films like Yeh Saali Zindagi and Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, had backed the Love Sex Aur Dhokha director and said, “I stand by Dibakar. As far as valid directors are concerned, I can vouch for them as I don’t think ‘casting couch’ exists. If at all it does, I have not seen it.” Enraged by this, Payal had reportedly sent him some threatening phone calls and messages some of which included: A) You don’t know what happened between me and Dibakar. I would appreciate if you refrain from your comments, as I also can talk. B) Lay off. C) I don’t want to work with you. So don’t spoil my image. D) Sorry for my last comments. I am a girl, not a piece of meat. I must have begged 100 times for an audition from you but you didn’t listen. But please don’t bitch about me as now I won’t shut up. E) Now, I hope it’s clear.

While Payal did not deny sending those messages, she said that she was upset with him and that the messages were not threatening. She even claimed to have talked to Sudhir and sorted out the issue with him. Hence, she was shocked when Mumbai Mirror reported that Sudhir had personally lodged a complaint against Payal at the Versova police station as a “precautionary measure”.

Slamming her detractors as “unstable”, Payal also said that people should question why Suhdir had filed the complaint almost 12 days after her messages instead of targeting her as a publicity monger and concluded with, “This entire gang is after my blood.”
