Now taking the legacy forward, the young generation has rose to the occasion with unprecedented success and still has plenty of interesting concepts in the store.
Let’s take a look at the gen-y stars and their line up:
The movie depicts the story of a man who deals with premature aging. It features Yami Gautam and Bhumi Pednekar in key roles apart from Ayushmann. Bala is slated to release on 22nd September. It is directed by Amar Kaushik.
In the movie, Ayushmann plays the role of a guy who is gifted with a talent of crooning in female voice. It is scheduled to arrive in September. It is directed by Raaj Shaandilya.
Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan
This is one of the exciting projects, everyone is looking forward to. It tackles the issue of homosexuality with Ayushmann playing one of two partners. It is slated to arrive on 14th February 2020 and directed by Hitesh Kewalya.
It brings on screen the first collaboration of Ayushmann with the legend Amitabh Bachchan. The movie is titled after the popular glove puppet characters Gulabo and Sitabo of Uttar Pradesh. Slated to release next, the movie is being helmed by Shoojit Sircar.
Street Dancer 3D
It’s another dance film from the house of Remo D’Souza, arriving in January 2020. It features Varun and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles.
Coolie No. 1 Adaptation
It’s an official adaptation of Govinda’s cult Coolie No. 1 and reunites father David Dhawan with son Varun. It features Sara Ali Khan as a leading lady.
It’s one of the highly anticipated releases of Bollywood as it features a dream face-off between Tiger Shroff and Hrithik Roshan. The action-thriller is set to release on Gandhi Jayanti i.e. 2nd October 2019.
The third part of popular Baaghi franchise promises to take the action game on the next level. It also marks the reunion of Tiger and Shraddha Kapoor. The movie to arrive on 6th March 2020.
It’s a Hindi remake of 1982 Hollywood cult Rambo, which featured Sylvester Stallone. The movie to arrive on Gandhi Jayanti 2020 and will be helmed by Siddharth Anand.
Pati Patni Aur Woh
It is the remake of 1978 film of the same name. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the movie to release on 6th December 2019. It features Ananya Panday and Bhumi Pednekar as leading ladies.
It’s a sequel to 2008 hit Dostana, which featured Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra in key roles. While the third lead is still to be revealed, Kartik and Janhvi Kapoor are confirmed in the movie.
Love Aaj Kal 2
Directed by Imtiaz Ali, Love Aaj Kal 2 is a sequel of Saif Ali Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer Love Aaj Kal. It features Sara Ali Khan in opposite of Kartik Aaryan. It is slated to arrive on 14th February 2020.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2
While the concept of the movie is still under the wraps, Kartik Aaryan is confirmed of playing the lead role. The movie is a sequel to Bhool Bhulaiyaa starring Akshay Kumar.
Sam Manekshaw biopic
Slated to release in 2021, the biopic is based on the life of Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw. It will be directed by Meghna Gulzar.
Udham Singh biopic
The movie depicts the story of Shaheed Udham Singh, who assassinated Michael O’Dwyner, the British Lieutenant Governor of the Punjab who administered the massacre of a thousand people at Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar. It will release next year.
Takht is touted to be the biggest periodic drama in Bollywood and will be helmed by Karan Johar. Amidst the sterling cast of Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan and others, Vicky Kaushal too will be playing the lead.
Bhoot: Part One- The Haunted Ship
Backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, the horror movie will release on 15th November 2019. It features Bhumi Pednekar and Vicky Kaushal in lead.
Slated to release in March 2020, Roohi Afza features Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles.
Set in a small town, Turram Khan is being helmed by Hansal Mehta and features Rajkummar Rao and Nushrat Bharucha in key roles.
Anurag Basu’s Next
Still untitled, Anurag Basu’s next is slated to release in February 2020. The comedy film feature an ensemble cast of Abhishek Bachchan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Pankaj Tripathi and others, apart from Rajkummar.
Made In China
Directed by Mikhil Musale, the movie depicts the story of a Gujarati businessman who goes to China for expanding his business. The movie is releasing in August 2019.
