The current shooting schedule of Emraan Hashmi starrer ‘Azhar‘ is taking place at Osmania University in Hyderabad. The shoot was recently disrupted by 2000 men due to a hassle over permissions.
The director of the film Anthony D’souza said that they had all necessay permissions to shoot in the university, but there was some kind of miscommunication among the institution’s 32 unions. Around 4000 members of the union were standing outside the university since morning in aggression which was quite scary.
Anthony who had planned a 4 day schedule at the university for the courtroom sequence further said that the university’s management was co-operative but the incident was quite disturbing. Emraan Hashmi was keen to talk to the agitating mom but was not allowed due to security reasons.
Director Anthony D’souza and Emraan Hashmi were taken to a room and locked in until the police arrived and escorted them safely. The leading ladies of the film Lara Dutta, Prachi Desai and Nargis Fakhri who were on the way for shooting were sent back to the hotel.
Director concluded his statement by saying that they will scout for another shooting location for courtroom sequence and finish shooting for other parts meanwhile. They don’t want to waste any further dates.
